Pruden promoted

The Clayton Police Department has promoted Kevin Pruden to sergeant.

Pruden is a 14-year police veteran, serving with the Elizabeth City Police Department and the Smithfield Police Department before joining the Clayton department in 2006. Pruden has also served as a field training officer and holds an intermediate police certification from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Training and Standards Commission, in addition to other specialty certifications.

Pruden is currently enrolled in the criminal justice associate's degree program at Johnston Community College. He served in the patrol division prior to this promotion.

Pruden is now assigned to "A" Squad in the patrol division.
