'Silver Ring Thing'

A program in sexual abstinence until marriage is scheduled from 6 till 8:30 p.m. Sunday, March 7, at Cleveland Community Church on Cleveland Road.

The "Silver Ring Thing" is a high-tech, high-energy performance that educates teens and their parents about the benefits of remaining abstinent until marriage and the dangers of promiscuous behavior. Admission is free.

Youth conference

A Christian youth conference is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday, March 20, at the Clayton Civitan football field. Dubbed "Clayton Teen Fest 2010," the event will feature bands, dramas, speakers, testimonies, games, rides, food and more. The festival is Jordan Wing's senior project at Clayton High School. Mount Zion supper

An old-fashioned supper is scheduled from 4 till 8 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 15772 N.C. 50 North in the Cleveland community. The menu will offer fried chicken, barbecued pork, ham, chicken with pastry, hot dogs and much more. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children ages 4-12. Kids 3 and younger eat free.
