Southeast stymies Lumberton early

The Bulldogs move on to a sectional girls' final with a 25-point decision.

LUMBERTON - Southeast Raleigh held Lumberton to two first-quarter points and never looked back in a solid, 57-32 road victory Wednesday night in the second round of the NCHSAA 4-A girls state basketball playoffs.

The Bulldogs (22-4) will play at Fayetteville E.E. Smith (23-1) Friday night at 7 in a sectional championship game. The winner advances to next week's regionals in Greenville.

Southeast led 10-2 after a quarter and 26-17 at the half. The Bulldogs also limited Lumberton to five points in the third quarter.

April McRae paced the Bulldogs' scoring with 19 points, while Demesha Peebles added 14.
