Friday will be Comets against Cancer day at Clayton High School. Three days of festivities will wrap up at the Comets’ home basketball games against Harnett Central. Last year’s event raised nearly $2,200. The goal for 2010 is $2,500.

This week, students and faculty members will be able to sign banners, one “In memory of” and another “In honor of.” Donations will be accepted from those who sign the banners. The banners will be displayed at the basketball games. Members of the Clayton High Relay for Life team will also sell pink ribbons for $1 during Friday’s first block of classes. Friday is also “Pink Day” at the school and everyone is encouraged to wear pink in support of the cause to the night’s basketball games.

Donations will also be accepted during the game. All funds raised during the week will go to cancer research.
